Progress Alliance members make personally meaningful gifts each year. We welcome all those who would like to support our work with their skills, networks, and energy to join at a level that is right for them.

Many of our members call Progress Alliance their “political home.” While we do not have a minimum contribution requirement, the infrastructure we have created together is intended to be permanent, and as such, our organization and network relies on our members giving consistently over a number of years toward the future we envision 10 and 20 years down the road. We ask our new members to test drive the organization for one year and then consider making a multi-year commitment. Most members decide to stay with PA for the long-term, and this approach, while unique, is what in turn allows us to make long-term commitments to our grantees and provide stability to our ecosystem. We ask that members divide their contribution into 60% for WPF (c3) and 40% for WPA (c4).

Progress Alliance operates two independent, affiliated non-profit corporations:

  1. Washington Progress Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, represents 60% of our core funding strategy. WPF invests in non-partisan civic engagement and leadership development.
  2. Washington Progress Alliance, a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, represents 40% of our core funding strategy. WPA invests in movement building, issue advocacy, and political engagement.
